Cheyenne, WY – Following the recent Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) announcement between Cheyenne LEADS and the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA), the Wyoming Legislature has approved $15 million in the state budget to support the PRCA Hall of Fame and Museum of the American Cowboy. Governor Mark Gordon has signed the budget.
The legislative approval allows the parties to move into the next phase of discussions.
“We appreciate the Legislature’s consideration of this request and the Governor’s approval of the budget,” said Betsey Hale, CEO for Cheyenne LEADS. “This action allows us to continue working through the details of the project in a thoughtful and deliberate manner.”
With funding authorized, the next step will be negotiating a Development Agreement between the parties. The Development Agreement will outline specific project terms, responsibilities and timelines.
In addition, this milestone allows project partners to begin pursuing additional fundraising efforts to support the overall development of the Hitching Post District.
Additional updates will be provided as progress continues.
