As a credit union, the members are the owners and share a common bond of association known as the field of membership. Some of our members save so that others can borrow. And unlike banks, we are a not-for-profit organization. Earnings are returned to the members in the form of competitive loan and savings rates, lower fees, and other products and services.
Our Board of Directors is elected from and by our membership. Board elections are based on the one-member, one-vote philosophy. Each member has one vote regardless of how much money he or she has at the credit union. Compare this to a for-profit bank, where stockholders vote according to the number of shares of stock they own.
