Cheyenne LEADS announced the February 2006 retirement of Pete Illoway. Illoway joined LEADS in the fall of 2002 as Vice President with responsibility for membership development and business recruiting.
During Illoway’s tenure at LEADS the organization experienced resurgence in membership providing increased funding for economic development activities. Illoway also was the primary point of contact for well over 100 of the prospects LEADS worked with during that time.
Illoway provided valuable insight and assistance into the legislative process on issues critical to LEADS and economic development statewide. These issues include the sales and use tax exemptions for aircraft maintenance and manufacturing and the constitutional amendment clarifying the use of local sales taxes for economic development.
“Pete brought a wealth of knowledge and contacts to LEADS at a critical time for the organization. He will be missed and we wish him well,” said Chief Executive Officer, Randy Bruns.
Cheyenne LEADS is a private, not-for-profit economic development organization serving as the economic development entity for the City of Cheyenne and Laramie County, Wyoming.
