CHEYENNE, WY — Grobet File Company of America, Inc., an international manufacturer of precision equipment, instruments, supplies and tools, has announced further plans to expand the manufacturing operations within its newly opened facility in Cheyenne.
Slightly more than a year ago, the company announced its intention to build a 40,000-square-foot manufacturing plant on 10 acres in the Cheyenne Business Parkway. The facility, which is now complete, supports the manufacture of Grobet’s high-precision tools for the jewelry, dental and aerospace markets.
The company, headquartered in Carlstadt, New Jersey, will relocate the manufacture of its flexible shaft fractional horsepower motor line and the manufacture of its entire line of capital equipment to Cheyenne. The move is slated to occur during the first part of this year.
“It has been our plan from the onset to continue to broaden the manufacturing base of our operations in Cheyenne,” said John Canzoneri, president of Grobet File Company of America, Inc.
Stephen Koshgarian, Grobet’s executive director of operations, added, “The decision to consolidate the manufacture of our very successful line of motors and capital equipment for the jewelry industry supports the company’s strategic plan to house its high-tech operations in Cheyenne.”
The company will relocate its current manufacture of fractional horsepower motors and accessory components along with its highly successful line of steam cleaners, plating equipment, and dust collectors for both the North American and international markets.
The relocation plans are anticipated to add administrative, technical and skilled manufacturing positions to the 40 full-time people currently employed at the facility. In addition, the new operations will complement the Cheyenne plant’s manufacture of high-precision tools for the industrial market.
According to Randy Bruns, Cheyenne LEADS interim president, from the outset, Grobet’s Cheyenne presence has added to the community’s manufacturing base, thus further diversifying the economy.
“Grobet is a terrific company with a tradition of quality and strong international ties,” Bruns said. “I am very pleased with the announcement and look forward to the prospect of this company growing with us.”
Grobet is the largest manufacturer and distributor of jewelry tools worldwide and a leading supplier to the industrial market. In addition to Cheyenne, Grobet File has operations in New Jersey, Georgia, Switzerland, Canada and the Dominican Republic.
Cheyenne LEADS, the Laramie County-Corporation for Economic Development, was founded in 1987 with the purpose of positioning Cheyenne and Laramie County as a location of choice for new and expanding businesses.
