Founded by Robert “Bob” Nelson in 1998, The Museum is an 18,000 square foot facility housing the best examples of all things Western, home to over 14,000 artifacts, fine books and taxidermy from around the world.
“Preserving the Past for the Future” is the affirmation of the Museum, which showcases some of the finest Western art and sculpture and Cowboy, outlaw, lawmen and Indian collectibles, including weaponry, beadwork, baskets and pottery from the Northern, Southern and Western tribes.
The Military Memorial Museum portion is dedicated to honoring our Military, beginning with the Civil War to the present. Recent acquisitions have advanced the collection to a National level in honoring our past and active servicemen and women.
The Museum buildings are handicap accessible and friendly and open to the public M-F, 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m May through September and also on Saturdays in June, July and August. Closed October through April.
