Window and door manufacturer JELD-WEN announced plans to build a new, larger local facility after outgrowing their present location that does not have adequate room for expansion.
JELD-WEN will purchase 14 acres across from the Fire Training Facility in LEADS’ Cheyenne Business Park, located along I-80 east of Cheyenne. Construction will begin this spring. The company presently has 200 employees, and projects adding up to 100 more employees within the next two years as a result of the expansion.
Cheyenne’s JELD-WEN General Manager Mark King said, “We are very pleased to have secured this new facility for our local operation and employees, as well as for the greater Cheyenne community.”
“For the past 16 years, JELD-WEN has been quietly manufacturing in Cheyenne while steadily adding jobs,” said Cheyenne LEADS President Randy Bruns. “We are thrilled to have been able to work with the company to keep those jobs here and provide the opportunity for continued growth.”
Based in Klamath Falls, Oregon, JELD-WEN is the world’s leading manufacturer of windows and doors. The company has earned a reputation for reliable and energy-efficient products at an excellent value.
With its beginnings as a small Oregon millwork plant having 15 employees in 1960, JELD-WEN has grown into a company of more than 20,000 employees and 150 divisions worldwide. Besides the core window and door divisions, JELD-WEN encompasses a wide range of products and industries, such as distribution, education, real estate, and marketing.
