LEADS Announces Allstate’s Cheyenne Express Office

CHEYENNE – Allstate Insurance Company and Cheyenne LEADS announced today that Allstate will be opening an Express claim service office in Cheyenne. The new facility will be located in the former Trilegiant Building on East Pershing, bringing in at least 200 entry-level white collar jobs to the community. Allstate plans to occupy the building as early as August 2007, begin training in October and start operations in January 2008.

“Allstate could have located this facility anywhere in the nation,” stated Tim Thorson, Cheyenne LEADS Vice President, “That a Fortune 100 company decided to locate a facility of this importance in Cheyenne is further proof that our community is moving in the right direction. Cheyenne should be proud to be selected by an employer with the reputation of Allstate.”

Allstate conducted an extensive site selection process and found a great pool of talented people in Cheyenne. “We expect they will employ most of Cheyenne’s available customer service workforce,” said Thorson.

Since June of 2006, LEADS has worked with Allstate executives, site selection consultant CB Richard Ellis, the Department of Workforce Services and the Wyoming Department of Insurance to bring this facility to Cheyenne.

The State of Wyoming has reserved a $400,000 Workforce Development Training Fund Grant for this project. The commitment by the state of this training assistance was important to the company’s decision. The good efforts of Pershing Circle, LLC (made up of Mick McMurry, Steve Sasser and Randy Hall), owners of the former Trilegiant Building, was also key to making the Cheyenne location competitive.

In terms of local economic impact, it is anticipated that this project will mean over $5.2 million in direct annual payroll flowing into the community. Based on economic models, it is also expected that another 94 jobs will be created indirectly. The long-term impact on the community will be around $97 million, contributing about $672,000 in local taxes and $686,000 in state taxes over the next five years.
