Steel Tubing Manufacturer to Build Facility in Cheyenne

CHEYENNE, Wyoming (January 3, 2013) – Searing Industries, headquartered in Rancho Cucamonga, California is expanding and has announced it will locate a new 200,000 square foot manufacturing facility in Cheyenne, Wyoming producing welded steel tubing, with a state of the art tube mill and steel coil slitter. The new manufacturing facility will be located on rail-served acreage in the Swan Ranch Rail Park, a Granite Peak development. Construction has already started on the facility which is slated to be completed the third quarter of 2013. Richardson Construction of Cheyenne is the general contractor.

Cheyenne LEADS has partnered with Granite Peak in creating a package to assist Searing Industries with the expansion. Once operational, the facility will initially employ approximately 50 people in their manufacturing facility.

Searing Industries was founded in 1985 by Richard, Lee and Jim Searing. Richard Searing was one of the first employees to ever run a tube mill in the United States dating back to 1948. He went on to become the President and Owner of three different tubing operations before finally starting Searing Industries along with his two sons.  Richard Searing passed away in 1998, and the company has continued excel with the leadership of brothers, Jim and Lee Searing.  “We look forward to the opportunity to expand into the Cheyenne community and continuing to serve clients from the Cowboy State,” said Lee Searing, current President of Searing Industries.

The company located to Rancho Cucamonga, California in 1991 and today runs five mechanical tube mills, a structural mill, cutting, chamfering and deburring equipment, slitting, laser capabilities and paint lines.  Searing has been able to partner with some of the most skilled employees in the trade.
